Former Fan Favourite Keen on Parkhead Return

He had a spell as both a player and a coach and was Neil Lennon’s right hand man during his first spell at the club, and Johan Mjallby admits he would do it all again if he was asked.

The former Sweden international even went to Bolton with Neil before they went there separate ways in the end.

Johan was part of a great Martin O’Neill side and was seen as a strong coach while at the club the first time around.

Asked if he missed being at the club, Johan told The Celtic Huddle: “Yeah, of course, I miss the buzz and working for one of the finest clubs in the world. I miss the competitive edge of it”

“But I think Neil is quite happy with his backroom staff, to be honest with you. He knows what I would bring, he knows what I stand for, so we might work together in the future, you never know.”

Celtic brought Gavin Strachan in this summer from Peterborough. Son of former Celtic manager, Gordon Strachan, it was a bit of surprise when the news came out.

Many supporters expected to see Johan back or someone who has been there and done it at Celtic.

Neil Lennon seems happy enough with his coaching staff but neither John Kennedy or Gavin Strachan can be seen as his picks. I wonder if he would fancy having Johan back, given the choice.
