Former Celts Debut Disappointment

FORMER Celtic striker Antony Stokes has had a less than ideal start to his new life in Greece after a 2-0 away defeat.

The Apollon Smyrni F.C striker played the full ninety minutes as his new club came up short against Kerkyra.

The Irishman failed to find the net even though he went straight into the first team, playing the lone striker role.

Anyone who knows Stokes’ strength he plays much better with a player beside him, arguably having his best run in the Hoops when he and Gary Hooper were up front.

Apollon are second from bottom of the Greek Super League and will need Stokes to step up in their upcoming games.
