Former Celtic transfer target Kyle Joseph is set to depart his club, Wigan Athletic, despite being offered new terms to stay with the League One side.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, the Scotland under-19s international is set to leave Wigan with Celtic, Newcastle and Arsenal being quoted as interested in the past few months.
Last week, Wigan confirmed that Joseph had been offered a new contract at the club. But with interest from clubs in a higher league, it didn’t look likely that the attacker would be staying put at the Latics.
Despite reports that the Hoops are interested, in the last few days, Wales Online has reported that the 19-year old could be close to a move to Championship side Swansea City.
With Joseph now being free to join the club of his choice, it will be interesting to see where he ends up. At this stage, it looks like that destination could be Wales rather than Scotland.
