He’s leaving his job with Birmingham City to take up the new role after he was brought to the club by Tony Mowbray, who is stepping back from management as he fights illness.

Before that, he was at Rangers but left that job at the end of last year.

Rovers have had a clear out of their recruitment department after they narrowly avoided relegation to League 1 and are looking to appoint Park to head their new set-up.

Celtic head hunted John Park from SPL rivals Hibs in 2007 to take the position of Football Development Manager. He was in his role in Glasgow’s east end from 2009 right up until 2016, before heading to Canada.

After a few years outside of the UK, in Isreal and Poland, he returned and took a job at Blackburn Rovers, where he is now expected to return.
