Former Celtic Star Urges Club to Make a Bizarre Signing

Former Celtic star Kevin Wilson has thrown his weight behind the idea of Gary Hooper returning to Celtic.

Celtic Masters

The endorsement comes after the two shared the field at the football masters last Saturday, where Hooper showcased his scoring prowess with two goals against the Rangers side and picked up the top scorer of the tournament.

The event saw Hooper jesting about a potential return to the Hoops, a comment that has since sparked a flurry of discussions on social media. With Hooper currently unattached to any club, some fans are entertaining the idea of his return. However, the very notion of re-signing him has been met with mixed reactions.

Fans argue that the club’s focus should be on scouting and signing young talents with the potential to evolve into top-tier players. In their view, advocating for the return of a 35-year-old former Celtic player, whose best days are behind him, is a step backwards. They believe that such discussions, especially on prominent platforms like social media, are somewhat embarrassing for a club of Celtic’s stature.

“Hoops could be a back-up player there and still score many goals for Celtic.

“I don’t understand why anyone would question it. That’s my opinion.

“Gary knows the club inside out and the fans absolutely love him.

“It’s a no-brainer for me. He wouldn’t cost them anything, so yes!

“For sure he’d take that opportunity, he’d snatch your hand off for it.”

While Wilson’s comments highlight Hooper’s familiarity with the club and his potential value as a backup player, the debate rages on.
