Former Celtic midfielder Thomas Gravesen has called on the Hoops to sign the next Henrik Larsson from his homeland.
With Celtic failing to sign a Kyogo replacement in the transfer window, the Hoops are a striker down. Despite Daizen Maeda’s unbelievable form up top in recent months, Gravesen believes that Celtic can sign the next Larsson.
Gravesen, who joined Celtic in 2006 from Real Madrid, made 29 appearances, scoring six goals, before joining Everton on loan for the 2007/08 season. He would leave in August 2008, with his time at Celtic gaining much notoriety due to his off-the-pitch antics. However, he has now made a very serious offer to the Hoops in the summer transfer market.

Gravesen said: (Tiplsbladet), “He (Mathias Kvistgaarden) is shining in his absence at Brøndby.
“They should be happy that he is there and enjoy the time he has left, because he has scored 10 goals, and none of them are from penalties.
“If he moves to Scotland, I am sure that he can reach Henrik Larsson’s level if he spends five to 10 years at Celtic. He is simply that good and strong.”

Some praise from Gravesen for Kvistgaarden, who has been continually linked with a move to Celtic. With Brøndby chairman Jan Bech Andersen dropping telling hints about the Danish striker’s future, the Hoops could look to return for him in the summer, having failed to sign him in the recent transfer window.
It would be near impossible for Kvistgaarden to live up to Larsson’s legacy at Celtic, as the Swede is one of the greatest players to ever grace the green and white hoops.
Kvistgaarden may yet join Celtic, but if he does, Gravesen has certainly added to the pressure on the 22-year-old.
