Aiden McGeady may be considering hanging up his boots this summer after his departure from Hibs has been confirmed.

The former Celtic player is currently undergoing rehabilitation after suffering a hamstring tear in February. The 37-year-old will weigh all his options before deciding whether to continue playing.

McGeady was one of Lee Johnson’s initial signings at Hibs, following their collaboration at Sunderland, joining on a one-year contract.

His contract was not renewed by the club this summer, and he now faces a summer of uncertainty.

Hibs confirmed the news on their website.

However, an early-season knee injury had the seasoned player contemplating retirement even then.

The former Ireland star managed to return and make a total of 14 appearances before succumbing to injury once more.

Since being sidelined, McGeady has started some punditry appearing on Sky Sports covering some SPFL games.
