Former Celtic winger Scott Sinclair is hoping to secure a contract at Swindon Town, having joined the League Two side on trial this summer.

The experienced wide man featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Reading as he looks to impress Swindon boss Ian Holloway, though he was absent from the squad that ran out 5-1 winners over Chippenham Town in their latest pre-season outing.
Sinclair, who once turned out for the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa, has enjoyed a lengthy career across the English and Scottish game. But it’s his time in Glasgow that remains his most prolific.
Brought north by Brendan Rodgers in 2016, the winger made an immediate impact after signing from Aston Villa, scoring the winner on his debut at Tynecastle as Celtic edged out Hearts 2-1.
That goal would set the tone for a remarkable debut season, with Sinclair netting 25 times in 50 appearances as Rodgers’ side stormed to an unbeaten domestic treble.
Over the next few years, he remained a key figure during a dominant period under the Irishman, playing his part in a run of three consecutive trebles.

His final stats in the Hoops paint the picture of a hugely effective forward, 62 goals and 34 assists in 167 matches. However, by the 2019/20 campaign, Sinclair had fallen down the pecking order under Neil Lennon and departed for Preston North End during the January window.
