Former Celtic Pair on Five-Man Managerial Shortlist

Dundee are on the hunt for a new manager and two familiar faces to Celtic fans are among the frontrunners.

Shaun Maloney and Scott Brown are both reportedly on a five-man shortlist as the Dens Park club look to replace Tony Docherty. [SunSport]

Docherty was relieved of his duties less than 24 hours after securing Dundee’s top-flight status.

Technical Advisor Gordon Strachan, who managed both Maloney and Brown during his time with Celtic and Scotland, is playing a key role in identifying the next man in charge.

Maloney, who has been out of work since leaving Wigan, remains highly regarded for his footballing ideas despite a mixed record in management so far. Brown, meanwhile, has been gaining valuable experience at Ayr United. His side missed out on promotion after falling to Partick Thistle in the play-offs, with the Jags later losing to Livingston – who completed their own return to the Premiership by beating Ross County.

Also in contention is former Dundee midfielder Temuri Ketsbaia, currently managing in Cyprus, and Bromley boss Andy Woodman. Charlie Adam, another former Dark Blue, is also under consideration.

With ties to Celtic and Scottish football at the heart of the shortlist, the next few days could prove decisive in determining who leads Dundee into the 2025/26 campaign.
