Former Celtic Midfielder Seals £1m Serie A Move

LIAM HENDERSON has long left Celtic but the player is still forging ahead in Italy – sealing a move to Serve A with former club Empoli. [SunSport]

The midfielder took the road less travelled when he opted against playing in the lower leagues of England or the Scottish Premiership to play in Italy.

He has had ups and downs during his Italian adventure but signing for his former loan club will certainly be vindication for the Scottish midfielder.

Liam has been an example to many young players who may find it daunting to leave the country and take on a challenge in a foreign country. He moves from Lecce to Empoli for a fee of around £1.3m. [Transfermarkt]

The player never made it at Celtic and he did very well at Hibernian during his run in Scotland.

His brother Ewan is still on the books at Celtic but doesn’t look like he will make the breakthrough into the first team. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the player move out before the window closes.

If he listens to his brother he might fancy his own Euro adventure.
