Former Celtic goal machine and Neil Lennon signing Gary Hooper has signed for a club in the Indian Super League on deadline day after leaving New Zealand and Wellington Phoenix earlier this year.

The 32-year-old’s trajectory since leaving Celtic has not been what he would have hoped. He moved to Norwich in the hope of climbing up the football ladder but after a certain amount of time he was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday where he then spent three seasons before heading to New Zealand.
Gary was a goal machine for Celtic and I don’t think there’s any arguing his time in the Hoops was the best stint of his career. It’s a shame he didn’t play at a higher level for longer but he’s still in the game and still grafting. Playing in India with the Kerala Blasters will be a completely new experience for the Englishman.
