Former Brendan Rodgers loan signing Daniel Arzani has moved back to Australia to continue his career after a tough few years in Europe.
Signed by Manchester City as a 19-year-old, the midfielder was sent out on a two year loan to Celtic. After getting up to speed, Brendan Rodgers brought the Australian on against Dundee and he would suffer a horrible ACL injury that would curtail his season before it had begun.
After that, even when Daniel came back from a lengthy time off, his chances at Celtic were limited. The player left the club in search of first team football elsewhere. Loans to Utrecht, Lommel and AGF didn’t do much for Daniel either.

A four year stint in Europe for the player has severely damaged his career and now he’s looking to rebuild.
It’s been confirmed the former Celtic flop has signed for A-League outfit MacArthur FC, and will play under former Manchester Utd striker Dwight Yorke.
Daniel moving back home seems to be a sensible choice, he can rebuild and remind people of the player he was back in 2018.
It also offers him the chance of getting back into the Socceroos set up which he’s been missing from since 2018.
Speaking about the move back home, Daniel told ABC.net:
“Being a new club, it’s exciting especially to be working under someone like Dwight Yorke and the rest of the staff here at the Bulls,” he said.
“I can’t wait to be back on the pitch and to get the season started.”
There were high hopes for Daniel at Celtic and the thought of playing in a Brendan Rodgers team that were flying was an exciting prospect. One moment, and one major injury set his career back years.
We wish him all the best.
