Former Celtic midfielder believes the emergence of Mohamed Elyounoussi in a Celtic jersey could open a new market up to Celtic and their Glasgow rivals going forward after another top display from the Norwegian.
Celtic used the loan system in the best possible way this summer when they brought in Mohamed – a player who they couldn’t afford on a permanent deal but has all the attributes to succeed in the game.
There’s very little chance the loan deal will come to any permanent conclusion and Celtic are likely only going to have Moi for the season in a one and done scenario.
This shouldn’t be looked at as a bad thing because if other sides see Moi getting a shot in the arm and heading back to Southampton with renewed vigour it will certainly look an attractive proposition to send players to Celtic who have maybe lost their confidence but are top quality on their day.
Kris Commons believes this is worth exploring.
“The signing of Mohamed Elyounoussi might just open up a whole new market for both of the O** F*** clubs to explore.” Commons told RecordSport.
“You have to wonder — just how many more multi-million pound players are sitting on the shelves gathering dust down south.
“Elyounoussi has been a revelation for Celtic since joining on loan from Southampton, who paid £16million for his services just over a year ago.”
