After Shaun Maloney was sacked by Hibs he’s been out of a job since.
He was heavily linked to the Dundee job but had fallen out of contention after he was tipped to join Kompany at Burnely. He was expected to make the move down south to be the former Manchester City captain’s right-hand man, but that turns out not to be the case.
Maloney will now continue the search for a new job after his first management role was cut short.
Burnley Appoint Former Celtic Man
Instead of Maloney, Burnley has appointed another former Celt Craig Bellamy to assist Vincent Kompany in the Championship. The pair will be hoping to lift Burnley from the Championship at the first time of asking.

His move to Celtic Park in the January window of 2005 came as a shock, signing a six-month loan at the club. He turned out to be a decent signing, scoring seven goals in twelve league games.
He helped Celtic clinch the Scottish Cup with his two goals.
