FORMER CELT Simon Donnelly was quick to run to the defence of Celtic when he saw former Arsenal man Martin Keown have a go at the club in the papers yesterday.

Keown was full of criticism for Celtic who lost 7-1 to PSG on the night and questioned the Scottish League and Celtic’s ability to play at this level.

Donnelly responded strongly, sighting ignorance as a major issue when EPL men talk about Celtic.

Arsenal were beaten 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern just a few seasons back and with their phenomenal budget, the former defender wasn’t quick to criticise his former club.
