According to reports, Celtic January target Jordan Rhodes hasn’t given up on playing for the club and would be willing to take a major pay cut to make the move happen in the summer.
Rhodes is currently at Sheffield Wednesday but his contract is up after this season.
Football Insider claims the 30-year-old wants to make the move to Parkhead and will try to facilitate the move if Celtic are still interested.
The website writes: The 30-year-old has no hope of securing a similar package in a market that is expected to see transfer fees and wages tumble as a result of the financial chaos caused by the pandemic.
He is willing to take a major salary drop to achieve his ambition of playing for Celtic
Rhodes has cooled off in recent years and never really lived up to his early billing.
Celtic have four strikers on their books at the minute. They would have to offload one of them to make a move for Rhodes. Bayo would be the obvious player to be moved on with the striker finding the going tough at Celtic.
Patrick Klimala hasn’t had a look in yet and Eddy along with Leigh are our top two bhoys.
Could Rhodes smash goals in up here? For the right price, he might not be a bad option. Sheffield Wednesday paid £10m for the striker only four years ago(TransferMarkt)
