In many ways, it feels like we’ve left Mikey Johnston behind since last season. The midfielder has had a horrid time with injury and it culminated in a long layoff stretching back to the start of this year.

So much has gone on since the tricky winger was doing his stuff for Celtic; this season, in his absence Moi Elyounoussi has made a good start to the season.

With so many games to be played in such a short period of time, the images from Wednesdays training session of Mikey back among the bhoys is a welcome boost.

Could he be in line for a place in the squad before the international break?

Mikey has so much talent but he needs to put a string of performances together and stay fit if he’s to make it at the club. We hope he’s back and firing soon!
