Forgotten Celt Earns Parkhead Exit

Ismaila Soro has gone out on loan to Portuguese side FC Arouca for the season.

The news has been confirmed after Ismaila was left out of Celtic‘s training camp in Austria. The midfielder stayed behind in Glasgow to get a move sorted and will now join up with his new teammates in Portugal.

Soro came in under Neil Lennon and had the fans backing to add energy to a pedestrian midfield. During the lockdown season, we were so starved of performances from some of our players Soro felt like a breath of fresh air.

Neil Lennon wasn’t keen on using Ismaila as much as fans would’ve liked and when Ange came through the door, despite not having a lot of options, he was also not keen on giving the wee man game time.

In the end, a loan move suits all parties and if things are successful in Portugal, Arouca has the option to make the deal permanent.
