First Start Since January: Huge Cup Final Decision

If you want to talk about a curve ball on Sunday, could Neil Lennon field a player who is yet to make a single start for the club so far this term?

Mikey Johnston has just come back from injury and only got five minutes of the game against Kilmarnock where he showed he’s still got the intelligence and the feet to make in-roads where we’ve struggled this campaign.

Our imagination and lack of penetration have been lacking when it comes to our opponents, Mikey gives us something very different and makes us more unpredictable. Is there a chance Neil Lennon first Mikey back in and gives him 60 minutes?

It wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. Presumably, the youngster is fit and ready to go if called upon. I guarantee Hearts won’t be preparing to play against someone like the tricky winger straight off the bat.

After his injury hell, it could be the moment where Mikey explodes back onto the scene. There’s more chance he gets some game time as a sub, but a start would put the cat among the pigeons. Mikey hasn’t started a game since the 3-0 win against Ross County back in January.
