In the last few days, Former Celtic loanee Filip Benkovic has begun to be heavily linked with the club once again after being recalled by parent side Leicester after a poor spell in the Championship with Cardiff City.

As reported by the Daily Record, at this stage neither club has been in contact about a move taking place. However, it is thought that the Croatian is on a list of possible central defensive targets to buy in this window.

Many fans on social media had their say on Benkovic’s possible return to the club with delight, especially after Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers appeared to be open to the idea of allowing him to come up North once again.

The only concern for some would be the 23-year olds fitness which he has struggled with at times.

That being said, signing Benkovic would be a great addition to what has been a struggling defence this season. There is no word on who else is on this supposed list of defensive targets but with the Croatian, we actually know what we are getting.

One thing that every fan can probably agree on – at the very least one centre back should be making their way to Glasgow in this window.
