Hugh Keevins has weighed in on the growing debate of whether Celtic should offer Greg Taylor a new contract on improved terms, with the club and Taylor reportedly stalling in negotiations in recent months.

The Scottish defender has incredibly been linked with a free transfer move to Rangers at the end of the season. However, as Saturday showed, Taylor can still contribute hugely, even if Kieran Tierney returns in the summer.
With Keevins explaining why he believes Taylor may not have made his mind up yet about his Celtic future.
He said: (Clyde 1 Superscoreboard), “I think I am right in saying that wherever he goes, I don’t think, and I am not concerning myself with money here. Because he would be well looked after by Celtic and well looked after wherever he goes.
“But, wherever he goes, it won’t be Champions League football.
“No, (it doesn’t look like Rodgers has given up on Taylor), he said that he never gives up on players until the very, very end.
“You would like to think that if Brendan Rodgers knew that Greg Taylor had told the club that he was definitely moving on, then Brendan Rodgers might as well put it in the public domain now.
“But that may not be the case. If it isn’t the case, whatever effort Celtic have made to keep Greg Taylor, I think they should increase those efforts, because if you are talking about wanting to make Celtic better season by season. Greg Taylor makes you better, so fight for him.”

Taylor has had one of the most underrated Celtic careers in recent memory. It’s no coincidence he has been a regular starter since his move in 2019, winning four league titles, three League Cups, and three Scottish Cups, with the opportunity to add another league title and Scottish Cup by the end of the season.
If he is to leave at the end of the season, Taylor will leave having known he has given everything during his time at the club. However, if he stays, he will look to add more domestic honors while competing with Kieran Tierney for a starting spot.
