Fake Twitter Account Fools Celtic Fans

A fake Celtic account has caught out a lot of fans on social media this evening after it announced Mikael Lustig had signed a new two-year deal.

The account handle is @celficfc and is masquerading as the real account. The image is taken from the official account from when they announced Neil Lennon had officially been signed up with a picture of Mikael photoshopped into it.

If you aren’t paying attention it would be easy to fall for the account post.

Celtic and Mikael Lustig have yet to agree a new deal with the defender currently on international duty. There was an extra year clause on the end of his contract but Celtic chose not to exercise that deal as it would have tied them into paying Lustig the same wage. Celtic seem keen on keeping Mikael but only on reduced terms.

The Celtic fans are split over keeping the right back on the books but with nobody but Anthony Ralston on a contract at Celtic who can play the position, he might be signed for another year for cover.
