Celtic seem to be active in the goalkeeping market this January. Liverpool man Caoimhin Kelleher has been linked along with young Icelandic stopper Hakon Valdimarsson.
The latter is a regular for Elfsborg having just completed the 2023 season with the club in the Swedish top flight. He was linked with the Hoops earlier in the week but per Fabrizio Romano, bids have now been made for Valdimarsson.
It is said that Premier League outfit Aston Villa have offered more than two million euros for the 22-year-old whilst Copenhagen have made a bid of around 1.7 million euros. Romano claims, however, that nothing has been done yet because there are several clubs interested in the services of Valdimarsson.

Given prior reports, one imagines the Scottish champions are one of those but if they must go up against some notable clubs to secure the services of the player, then a deal could be tough to strike.
There is no getting away from the fact, though, that Brendan Rodgers needs a long-term replacement for Joe Hart between the sticks.
Whether someone is signed to take the place of the treble-winner now or in the summer, they must be up to the standard and be an improvement on the 36-year-old veteran.
