After being a constant thorn in the side of Celtic during the two Conference League ties, we put out an article this morning urging the Hoops to seriously consider signing the Norweigan this summer.
Ola is in the final year of his deal with Bodo/Glimt and will be free to talk to clubs in the summer; his deal is set to expire in December 2022.
What we weren’t sure about was if Bodo had any sort of extension clause in his deal to keep Ola at the club beyond the end of this year.
In a CeltsAreHere exclusive Sobakken’s agency has told us the player is 100% out of contract in December and there’s no extension clause. Not only that, Celtic scouts were offered the player last summer during the rebuild.
“There’s no clause and no option [For Bodo to extend his current deal].” his agency confirmed.
Adding: “Ola was offered to Celtic scouts last summer”
Our big takeaway from this is Celtic scouts were aware of the player before this and should seriously consider following Ola’s progress over the next six months.

The winger was outstanding against Celtic and his performances shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Celtic’s rebuild started in the summer. During that time, they would’ve had a lot of agents knocking on the door and it can be difficult to get a clear picture.
The Hoops needed a right winger and decided Liel Abada was the way to go, and we can’t really argue with that considering Liel has been sensational this season.
Going forward, Celtic should be looking at Solbakken as someone who can come and challenge Liel for his place in the team and be a quality option. Considering his deal is up in December, we could grab a bargain if we’re quick enough.
