It’s been an absolute disaster for Celtic. Putting all their eggs in the Eddie Howe basket has left the club in disarray.
Things were so far down the line it was unfathomable that Eddie wouldn’t take the job but the Celtic directors left scope for this exact scenario to unfold.
With everyone scrambling to find out who the club are in advanced talks with [Something a source at the club told us yesterday] Ange Postecoglou has come out as a front runner.
This comes from a a Telegraph journalist and at the moment it’s not being corroborated by the club out their usual journalists who get the scoop.
Fans will be rightly asking who is this man. He’s not been on our radar at all. I think we’ve quoted him once on the site a long time ago when he urged a young, under utilised Tom Rogic to leave Celtic. That’s neither here nor there.

If Postecoglou is being seriously considered for the role, he and the club face an uphill PR battle to win over the supporters and a media who love a fall guy that’s not known well in British football.
We reached out to Mike Wise at ESPN Australia who gave us some insight into Ange.
“Ange is a purist, rather than a pragmatist. He loathed the fact that Australia had qualified for World Cups off the back of throwing 11 men behind the ball, because once we got there we’d get soundly beaten regardless.” Wise told CeltsAreHere.
“So he proved we could qualify by playing free-flowing, attacking football. (And then promptly resigned after getting no support from the federation.)
“Bar from a short stint in Greece, he has won silverware at every club he has managed in the past two decades – and done it in style..
“I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory or Yokohama fan that does not rate Ange. That says a lot.”
Whoever does come in now knows they’re second choice. Even if Ange has the ability to take this team on, it’s a very hard sell.
