Ex-Celtic Youth Star Attracting Interest from Newcastle and Lyon

Former Celtic youngster Eseosa Sule is reportedly on the radar of several top European clubs after a good end to the season with West Bromwich Albion’s youth side.

The 19-year-old striker, who left Celtic for West Brom in the January of 2023, has been in good form, netting nine goals in his last 11 outings in Premier League 2 and the Premier League Cup. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Newcastle United and Ligue 1 giants Lyon among the clubs showing keen interest in securing his services this summer.

Sule is out of contract at The Hawthorns in June, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to bolster their attacking options without a hefty transfer fee. Alongside Newcastle and Lyon, Premier League sides Bournemouth and Brentford, as well as Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely.

West Brom are eager to keep hold of the talented forward, but with growing attention from across Europe, they could face an uphill battle convincing him to stay.

Since leaving Celtic, the centre forward has scored 19 goals in 61 games for West Brom’s youth teams.

He isn’t an example of a high-profile exit, but nonetheless, he’s another star who Celtic couldn’t keep around and headed elsewhere to better his youth career.
