Former Celtic youngster Liam Hughes has made the bench this evening for English Premier League Champions Liverpool.

Hughes departed the club in January to move down south with his contract coming towards the end. He first joined the Hoops back in February 2018, having impressed at several clubs in his native Northern Ireland.
He has also been a standout for the youth sides in a number of games including the 2019 Scottish Youth Cup Final against Rangers.
Over the last few seasons, the club has been left frustrated losing some of our biggest talents to teams across Europe, with players going to the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Of course, when clubs of their size comes in it is more than likely that they will pick up whatever talents they want with some of the best youth systems in the world.
However, we should be trying to do more to convince these players to stay at the club and give them a pathway into the first team.
With a rebuild on the way, focusing on this side of things will be crucial especially with the ever-changing transfer market that could mean we rely on producing our own talents even more.
