Former Celtic striker John Hartson has revealed where he will be for the Hoops’ match against Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Champions League, and it’s not where you would expect.
Hartson, who spent five years at Celtic, scoring 88 goals in 146 appearances and winning league titles, two Scottish Cups, and the League Cup, has continued to follow his former side, whether through media duties or by watching games in the stands. However, he has surprised a number of people with where he will be for tonight’s game.

His tweet highlights how special a place the Hoops hold in his heart. Having also played for the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, and Wimbledon, Celtic were arguably his best days as a player under Martin O’Neill, in particular.
The Irishman was able to get the best out of Hartson, and he will be hopeful that fellow Irishman Brendan Rodgers can have a similar impact on Adam Idah. Idah replaces Kyogo Furuhashi in the starting XI at Villa Park, with Kyogo having left for Rennes on Monday for a reported £10 million.
Given the opportunities that Hartson would have had to sit in hospitality due to his playing career, his willingness to sit in the away end with Celtic supporters shows exactly how much he is loving this year’s Champions League campaign, with a place in the knockout playoffs already secured.
