While several greats have passed through the Parkhed gates to ply their trade for Celtic, others have been sub-par.

Countless players signed by the club have failed to meet expectations and flop, Daniel Arzani being one.

The winger spent two years on loan at Celtic from Manchester City but was plagued by injury. He made just two senior appearances for the Bhoys in an underwhelming spell.

Arzani went on to play for several teams after his time in Glasgow, and he is now back in his homeland with Melbourne Victory.

It is currently the off-season in Australia, but that has not stopped him from playing some football.

According to the aapnews, Arzani turned out for amateur side Coogee United in a sixth division game last Saturday.

The Eastern Suburbs Football Association’s rules say that its players must be amateur and officially registered to play in its leagues, but the 25-year-old was none of those when he took to the field.

Arzani is not likely to be fined for his actions, but his club’s new manager Patrick Kisnorbo won’t have been impressed.

Indeed, Arzani playing in the lower leagues on a poor, water-filled grass park is a bad look and only increases injury, which he has a bad record of.

He will be thankful to have escaped the debacle unscathed, but his reputation will have taken a hit because of it.
