Former Celtic coach Jim McGuinness has been given his marching orders at Charlotte independence after a poor run of form for the American outfit.

The Irishman was relieved of his duties last week with the club looking to go in a new direction.

Why is this news for Celtic fans?

Jim was a massive part of why current Celtic loan player Andrew Gutman joined Charlotte independence. Now the former Celtic coach has been dismissed there could be a change of heart as to where Celtic want Andrew to play his football.

His loan deal has not been clear at all and it’s unknown if the player is still in the US gaining experience because of work permit reasons. The club did NOT even divulge how long the loan deal is for.

There was faith at Celtic Park in McGuinness’ ability to bring their player on and with him out the picture there may be a conversation to be had in the near future.
