Ex-Celt Warns Tierney as Deadline Looms

Ex Celt and Manchester United boss David Moyes has alerted Kieran Tierney to the challenges he may face adapting to life in the Premier League. This is dependent on whether the left-back will elect to move to London before the conclusion of the English transfer window this week amidst interest from Arsenal.

“He will be facing a top-end player every week, and he will need to get to grips with that as there will be much more defensive duties to carry out than he has probably been used to at Celtic” Moyes told The Sunday Post.

The former Celt is someone who knows the English top-flight better than most. The 22-year-old won’t take his opinion lightly, as he mulls over the biggest decision he could potentially make in his professional career.

However, Moyes also implied that Tierney has all the credentials needed to play at the highest level, telling Metro “If the move goes through, he will go on to show his worth and will be a credit to himself and his country.”

There is no question of Kieran Tierney’s propensity to exceed expectation in a multitude of different scenarios. With senior experienced figures such as Moyes delivering their seal of approval, this will only prove to aid Tierney’s confidence in his own ability further.

Celtic fans and senior figures alike will be praying that Tierney is in a hooped shirt come midnight on Wednesday. Preventing the need for contingency plans to come into place, in such an important segment of the season.
