Former Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura has begun his coaching journey after retiring last year.
The 46-year-old played professionally until 44 before hanging up his boots with his hometown team, Yokohama FC.

Now, after finally calling time on a 26-year-long career that spanned numerous clubs, countries, and continents, Nakamura has taken the next steps.
Indeed, he has now begun his journey in coaching. He is currently working towards getting his badges and recently got some experience with Serie A side Parma:

Perhaps Nakamura will dabble his hand in the trendy new craze of set-piece coaching, given how good he was at free kicks and the like throughout his career.
The ex-Japan international scored a fair few iconic goals from dead balls over the years for Celtic, where he spent four successful years.
Nakamura made over 150 appearances for the Bhoys, netting 31 goals and assisting 38.
He won six trophies in Glasgow’s east end, and despite his departure over 15 years ago, the Japanese contingent at Celtic is still going strong.
The likes of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, and Kyogo Furuhashi have all endeared themselves as heroes at Parkhead throughout their respective spells with the Hoops so far.
Nakamura was the original ‘Japanese bhoy’, though, and his legacy lives strongly on to this day.
