Former Celtic midfielder Scott Allan has made a surprising admission about Hoops flop Carlton Cole.

The veteran striker moved to Glasgow on a free transfer in October 2015 after he didn’t extend his stay with West Ham.
Cole went on to make just five appearances for Celtic in his 10 months at the club, scoring one goal and assisting another.
He left the Bhoys to join Sacramento in the USA before eventually retiring in the summer of 2017.
Now 40 years of age, one of Cole’s old teammates at Parkhead, Allan, thinks he was a great figure to have in and around the dressing room.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer’s Football Podcast, the Kelty Hearts man lifted the lid on the England international’s time north of the border.
“He was there when we won the league”, he said.
“[He was] brilliant for the changing room, great, a lovely guy. He added something.”
On the pitch, Cole didn’t do much of note under Ronny Deila’s stewardship but off it, it seems he was beneficial.
Every dressing room needs experienced and approachable professionals, and Cole sounds like he was just that.
