REPORTS during the week claimed Everton were set to lodge a record breaking bid for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney but these reports seem to be wide of the mark.
While the Premier League club are interested in taking the left back to Goodison – it’s believed that they will mount a bid much lower than the £25million reported and hope to convince Celtic of future add-ons for one of their star player’s.
Celtic are well versed in the art of the deal nowadays and always make sure that any player heading out the door already has future fees and sell-on clauses attached to them so the club can reap the rewards further down the line.

With Kieran Tierney though, he is so valuable to the club that Peter Lawwell would have to see a sizeable upfront fee for the club to even look twice at any deal on the table.
Tierney is under contract until 2023 and loves playing for the club.
There is always going to be a scenario where his transfer is possible but how bad do Everton want the lad?
It’s a cynical world where money motivates but it’s not always the case and even if cold hard cash was discussed between the 21-year-old and the Premier League club, it would still not be a foregone conclusion.
