European Club Set to Trigger Celtic Contract Clause

Celtic loanee Jack Hendry is set to be offered a route away from the Hoops with his current loan side Oostende ready to activate the defender’s buy-out clause.

As reported by Glasgow Live, Oostende sporting director Gauthier Ganaye has said he expects the 25-year old to be offered the chance to make the move and stay in Belgium at the end of the season and has been tipped to complete the move.

“We have a loan with a purchase option.

“If we take that option and we can convince him, he will stay with us longer. Then we have to see what we can do for each other.

“In any case, Jack feels good about himself here.

“Given his excellent performances, I hope that we can convince him that KVO is the step for him to the national team and to a further beautiful football future.”

Ever since joining Celtic in 2018, Hendry struggled to really make an impact and even faced a lot of criticism for some of his performances. However, so far this season he has taken the league by storm

Hendry has been a key figure in the Oostende defence which has one of the best defensive records in the league and currently find themselves 4th in the Jupiler League.

He seems to have settled in Belgium, so come the end of the season I don’t think it would be much of a surprise to see the central defender complete the move and who could blame him at this stage.
