Europa League Implications – Neil Lennon Delivers injury Update on Celtic Trio

Jonny Hayes is having a scan on Monday evening to determine just how long he will be out for after picking up an injury against Livingston at the weekend.

The midfielder turned defender got the injury early on but played on until early in the second half before he was taken off for Greg Taylor.

Hayes has been ever present in Neil Lennon’s side this term and has put in some hard graft and big performances.

“He’s having a scan this evening, we’re hoping it’s just a muscle injury.” Lennon told CelticTV.

“If that’s the case, he should be good to go in the next week or so.”

The takeaway from those comments is Jonny is unlikely to play any part in the game against Rennes on Thursday night at Celtic Park. With Mohamed Elyoiunoussi also out there could be games for Greg Taylor and at least a squad place for Scott Sinclair for the French side’s second visit to Celtic Park this season.

We hope to see Jonny back as quickly as possible.

“We’ve got a couple coming back, Mikey Johnston, he’s back in training now, we’re hoping Moi will be training by the end of the week”

“So fingers crossed Jonny’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared.
