DANISH SIDE FC Midtjylland are interested in signing Celtic forward Giorgos Giakouamkis in the January transfer window.

The Scottish Champions are in talks with the potential buyers in what is viewed as an ambitious move from the Danish side, outlet B.T. reporting it would be “very expensive” for the club. Erik Sviatchenko made the same move from Glasgow to central Denmark in 2018.
The side can offer Giakouamkis European football, finishing second in their group ahead of Italian side Lazio. They face Sporting CP in February in the Europa League Round of 32.
Celtic had tried to tie Giakoumakis down, but talks over a new contract broke down after the player’s wage didn’t meet his expectations.
There has been some great interest in Giakouamkis after he finished top scorer in the league last season, with it highly expected he’ll depart the club this January.
Despite his efforts in the second half of last season, he’s been unable to get consistent minutes under Ange Postecoglou, with Kyogo the preferred option. Giakoumakis has only started up top five times in the league this season, something that’s been frustrating for the player.
