Euro Blow for Celtic – Transfer Target Unavailable for Qualifiers

John McGinn will now see no part of the Champions League qualifiers if Celtic manage to wrap up a deal for the 23-year-old in the coming weeks.

John sat out Hibs first Euro game of the season, with many speculating it was because of Celtic’s firm interest in the player.

However, with Hibernian comfortably 6-1 up on aggregate, Neil Lennon decided to play his midfielder in the second leg which ended 6-4 on the night – McGinn even helping himself to a goal.

This means John will be ineligible for all of Celtic’s qualifying round ties should he make the move.

But the player would be able to be registered for the group stage if he signs and if the club get there.
