Erik Sviatchenko has been linked with a return to Celtic this summer but he will certainly be back in Glasgow in July to face off against the Hoops in round two of the Champions League.
Celtic are set to do battle with FC Midtjylland for a place in the third round of the competition. The first legs is at Celtic Park before the return leg a week later in Denmark.
Erik has strong Celtic connections since leaving the club two and a half years ago. The defender is excited to be heading back to Glasgow.
He even admitted he’s still in a Celtic whatsapp group!
“I am still in a Snapchat group with Celtic players like Kristoffer Ajer.” Erik told RecordSport.
“I had to learn to play for a big European club and on a winning team, where the expectation was that we should win every single match in the league – and that it had to happen in a specific way, where the game appeals to the 60,000 passionate fans in the stands.
“The pressure at Celtic is enormous.”
Celtsarehere confirmed this week that Erik is on a short list of defender’s the club are looking at for next season. The bhoys coming up against Erik’s current side could complicate things.
Could he be a Celtic player before the game kicks off? The way Celtic usually go about their business, probably not.
