There has been transfer interest in a fair few of Celtic’s prized assets this month. On Thursday evening, news surfaced surrounding Girona’s desire to sign Matt O’Riley whilst Cameron Carter-Vickers was touted for a potential exit a few days ago.
West Ham, Brentford, and Nottingham Forest were all said to hold an interest in the American centre-half, but per Football Scotland, the latter has dropped out of the race to sign the defender.

This news comes as a boost for the Hoops, but it remains to be seen whether they even may let go of Carter-Vickers this month. The 26-year-old still has two and a half years on his deal at the club with his presence on the park crucial to the backline and team as a whole.
One feels as though losing a player as significant as the centre-back could prove pivotal in the title race and if Celtic were to let go of him this month, they would face undoubted backlash.
Such a scenario seems unlikely, however. Carter-Vickers appears to be content at the club and with a lengthy period left on his deal, supporters shouldn’t panic.
