Celtic are reportedly interested in making a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
Woodman has been mentioned as a possible target for the club in the past. But according to the Chronicle Live, both the Hoops and English Premier League side Southampton are thinking about making a move for the England under-21 internationalist.
The 24-year old has spent the last two season on loan in Wales with Swansea, just missing out on promotion to the Premier League at the weekend in the play-off final.
As well as that, Woodman has had loan spells up in Scotland with both Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
It looks at this stage as though it is unlikely the Newcastle academy graduate will gain a place in Steve Bruce’s starting lineup with Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow battling for the first-team spot in the North East.
The goalkeeping position will need to be rectified in the summer, after last season, which saw three separate keepers rotating between the sticks.
With no manager in place, scouting and shortlists are still being made behind the scenes.
