English Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly failed in a last-minute attempt to swoop midfielder Bosun Lawal away from Celtic.
Despite the deal not being officially announced yet, it appears that the 18-year old’s mind has been made up, and he will be heading to Parkhead, with videos also surfacing of him outside the Celtic Park.
According to the Herald, Chelsea attempted at the last minute to convince Lawal to sign for the Stamford Bridge side, but the youngster’s mind was already set on a move to Celtic.
The report also suggests that the Hoops beat off competition from Norwich City and clubs from Italy and Croatia to sign the highly-rated Irish youngster.
The club will land Lawal for a cheap fee of £120,000 after leaving the newly-promoted side at the end of his current contract.
This looks to be a big boost, seeing young talented players reject the opportunity to continue playing down south, to come up to Scotland with Celtic.
Lawal will likely play his football with the Celtic B side this season as they prepare for their first season in the Lowland League.
