DAVID Tanner has been put in his place by radio personality Ewen Cameron after he piped up about Celtic fans’ celebrations in the Trongate on Saturday.
After a 5-0 win over Aberdeen, Celtic lifted the SPFL trophy, having secured back-to-back titles with a 2-0 win over Hearts in the first game of the split.
With the League Cup already back at Paradise, the league title joined it, and the Scottish Cup could soon be making its way to the trophy cabinet, completing a treble.
David Tanner took to Twitter to vent his frustrations at watching Celtic fans celebrate winning a title, labelling Hoops fans entitled just because they celebrated their team’s success.
The FM is correct.
The recent, sinister trend of entitled fans of both Celtic AND Rangers mobbing the city centre must end.
A projection of power akin to dogs marking territory by cocking a leg. But less-civilised.
A bad look for clubs and fans. Stop now.

Ewen Cameron, who is not a usually a friend of the Celtic fans, then replied to David Tanner’s tweet, and for once, made some sense when it came to football. He rejected Tanner’s claims that Celtic fans are entitled, pointing to examples from around the world where cities embrace their sporting celebrations.
The rinse-and-repeat nature of doing nothing to facilitate sporting achievements in this country while castigating anyone who wants to do it is so boring at this point.
I’d also like to add that city centres across Europe allow/celebrate their football clubs and let them tour round the entire city centre on an open top bus in front of millions who come out to celebrate with their heroes.
Will you get a few who step out of line? Yes.
Is it…

David Tanner saw an opportunity to have a go at Celtic fans, so he took it.
While he mentions Rangers fans in the tweet above, it has to be said David was absolutely silent during some less-than-savoury scenes in Geaorge square during a lockdown when people were not so supposed to congregate. Earlier that season, he had a pop at Celtic fans for turning up at Hampden before Celtic clinched the quadruple treble. It’s almost as if his motives aren’t pure.
