English Championship side Reading has taken reported Celtic target Kyle Edward on trial at the club.
As reported by BerkshireLive, The Royals have taken the 23-year old winger on trial after he was released by recently relegated side West Bromwich Albion.
During his time at the Baggies, Edwards made 49 appearances and scored four goals. He also spent a period on loan with League Two side Exeter City.
Recently, it was reported that Celtic was holding talks with Edwards about a possible move to Parkhead (Read More). Edwards was also linked with a move to the club back in January, with former boss Neil Lennon thought to be keen on bringing him to the club.
However, at this stage, that looks to have hit a stumbling block with the winger playing just under an hour in Reading’s pre-season fixture against Lincoln City this weekend.
After the exit of Mohamed Elyounoussi, Ange Postecoglou needs another option on the left-wing, with his only current remaining first-team option being Mikey Johnston, who has struggled with injuries.
It doesn’t appear that a move for Edwards will be happening anytime soon, though.
