Embarrassing Petition: Celtic Should Step In

A Celtic fan has taken it upon themselves to open a petition to implore the Celtic board to cut their ties with Parks of Hamilton bus company.

The club uses the Motor Group to get to and from both home and away games.

The companies owner Douglas Park is currently the chairman over at Ibrox and was the man who penned the government letter that Celtic ended up responding too on Tuesday evening.

Park brought Celtic into it by calling us the other half of the Old Firm while he tried to defend his own fans loutish and illegal behaviour.

Celtic put it simply when they distanced themselves on social media.

Talk is cheap though, it should be time to cut ties with Douglas Park and Celtic.

The petition is embarrassing because it really shouldn’t need to happen. The club should recognise the fans will not be in favour of lining the pockets of any director over at Ibrox.

It’s not sour grapes and it’s something that’s been brought up since Park took his place in the post-2012 setup while Celtic were hoovering up trophies.

While there has been a long standing relationship, the club should quietly go about finding a new travel partner. There’s no need for grandstanding or petitions, just get it done.
