‘Embarrassing’ – Neil Lennon Confirms Rival Manager’s Celtic Apology

NEIL LENNON branded Motherwell coach, Maurice Ross embarrassing after he took a swipe at Celtic after their derby defeat.

Ross said it was the worst Celtic lineup he’d seen in 20 years when the team sheets came out on Saturday – as disrespectful as it gets if you’re in the lineup.

The Celtic manager confirmed ‘Well boss Stephen Robinson contacted him personally to apologise on behalf of Ross.

Neil Lennon told CelticTV : “I was surprised and very disappointed. Stephen contacted me to apologise profusely. He found it embarrassing.

“I think Motherwell, as a club, have really good people there and they found it embarrassing as well.

“And to be honest with you, I found the comments embarrassing for Maurice rather than anyone else.

“He’s an employee of another Premiership team and I don’t think he should be making any comment at all on any other team or any other players.”

It’s not the first time we’ve seen this kind of stuff, Kris Boyd was trying cause disharmony in the Celtic dressing room while still being on the books at Kilmarnock.

Celtic didn’t turn up at all on Saturday and they will have dealt with that internally. There was no fight or dig. We were short a few key players but that was no excuse.

They have a long way to go to make up for that performance. We don’t think many of them will be paying attention to what Maurice Ross says and we’re certain most of them won’t even know who he is.
