HATEM ELHAMED has posted his final message to the Celtic support as he seals his move away from the club.
The defender is back in Israel to finalise his return to Hapoel Be’er Sheva after the two clubs agreed on a fee late last week.
The defender has been homesick for quite some time. A mixture of his family being in Israel and the isolation the pandemic has brought on meant Elhamed was unable to fully integrate into life in Glasgow.
The defender had some good times at the club but was blighted by injury. He always came across as calming influence in the backline.
Last last night we published a video of the player being reunited with his son, in an emotional moment for the pair. [Watch here]
Speaking about his time at Celtic, the player thanks all the supporters for their understanding about his move back to Israel and states Celtic will always be in his heart.
Hatem Elhamed:
“To all Celtic fans.thank you for the support, understanding and love.I will be grateful forever for the privilege of playing for you.@CelticFC will stay in my heart forever and ever” pic.twitter.com/h3bBvLFn5i— Dudu Dahan (@dududahan555) February 10, 2021
We wish the player all the best for the future.
