There were many hurt feelings at the start of the season when Boli Bolingoli broke strict rules to fly out to Spain during the pandemic.
The defender was punished by the club and sent out on loan. Celtic had to miss two of their games and cram them into an already hectic season.
The fans were left raging, and not many players wished Boli well when he left for Turkey on loan.
Now, after what we’ve seen elsewhere from the authorities, it’s clear Boli Bolingoli and Celtic were not treated fairly by the governing body or the government.
Celtic and Aberdeen took a lot of heat in the early days when further down the road, other players from other clubs attended indoor household parties not once but twice. It’s taken months for those incidents to be dealt with and never garnered the same level of disgust that was evident with Boli.
Given what we know now, Boli has been hard done by.
The Celtic players have likely recognised this, which is why Odsonne Edouard shared Boli’s latest post. The defender celebrating getting some game time after he came back from a five-month injury layoff.

Boli is due back at Celtic this summer. It’s anyone’s guess if the Belgian will be here next season, but he will by default become Celtic’s second choice left-back when Laxalt heads back to Milan.
