Eddie Howe Latest; Backroom Staff Hold Up

Over the last few weeks, fans have been waiting for any sort of news or update on the latest developments of who will be the next permanent manager of the club.

The name that everyone has been talking about is Eddie Howe and it appears there is still something in that but there may also be a potential hold up.

As reported by Sun Sport, with Howe’s former side Bournemouth, currently focusing on their attempt at gaining promotion back to the Premier League, it might just be what is holding up any potential deal and the Englishman wanting to bring some of his staff to Glasgow.

It has been heavily reported that Richard Hughes is a key man in Howe moving to Scotland but at this stage, he will be playing a big role in the appointment of the Cherries next manager.

As well as Hughes, both Stephen Purches and Stephen Weatherstone were name-checked as possible candidates to join the 43-year old at the club as part of his coaching staff.

It would make sense that something like this could be holding up any potential deal with Bournemouth pushing for a play-off place and at a pivotal time in their season.

However, this also means that Celtic might be forced to wait until the end of the playoffs in England if that is what is holding everything up.

It puts the Celtic board in a tricky situation as to what happens next in the push for the new manager of the club.
