Even without Greg Taylor’s injury, Celtic were in the market for a left-back this month. However, with the Scotland internationalist due to be out for a few weeks, the need has heightened.
The likes of Tiago Araujo and Owen Beck have been linked, although the latter is set to rejoin Dundee while any move for Araujo seems dead in the water. It seems as though at this point any left-sided full-back who comes through the door will do so on loan (Daily Mail).

While this will frustrate many fans, it is the current reality of the Hoops’ transfer business, which has flattered to deceive the majority this month.
Nicolas Kuhn has been the sole arrival to date, and Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has ruled out another player joining The Bhoys. In a recent press conference, Howe, who was widely linked with the Celtic job in the summer of 2021, rubbished speculation that left-back Matt Targett could make a move to Glasgow.
The former Bournemouth boss revealed that Targett is still a big part of his plans when asked about a move for him to the Scottish champions: “No, incorrect, you’re way off”, he said (The Scottish Sun).
“Matt is injured and has still got some way to go in his injury. He’s also a big part of what we’re doing here.”
